I was fortunate in my early life to have financial blessings. Never had a hungry moment, no requirement was ever beyond my grasp. Adequate supplies of money were available. Desires is another story. I learned early that what I got excited about was not going to be given to me...My family never spoke much about money, we never spoke much period. My financial stability growing up both allowed me to get this far without really trying and never have a requirement to go after more. When I first found myself out of college and able to make my own decisions I still had a no reason to try attitude. I still have it and am changing it to there is a reason to go after desires. It's good for me and the world as a whole. My thoughts have changed since 2001 in a direction I only imagined. I've made mistakes financially and every other area of my life. Mistakes are bound to happen and I've been fortunate to come across some people who can help me with my path. Once I found out my life had counter-productive mechanisms going on everything seemed like a failure, its only now it becomes clear if I continued the same direction it would have been worse whether I realized it or not. I've discovered it relieves stress to invest in yourself.
The first of great influence was Stephen Covey. I woke up one morning and saw a tape series originally given to my mother unopened and decided to play it. It woke up something inside of me. It also proved to guide me in principles that I live today. The tape series was called First Thing's First. I listened to it. I took notes. I followed directions of the teachings. I began growing and began walking a path not easier mind you, but somehow more enjoyable. Soon after I would learn about another valuable teacher.
Fredric Lehrman has an Audio series call Prosperity Consciousness. When I heard his material my world expanded and I saw new possibilities. He was the first to introduce me to the influence of our own thoughts and how they concern the reality we live. It was poweful because it allowed me to consider what I'd been thinking, where it came from, how it affected my life and what I could do about it. The next teacher/mentor has been a positive contribution to my life.
Jerry Clark was on a conference call I was listening to and he explained it is important to understand people on their level. In other words people often look at people and base their opinions on their own lives when large portions of the population think differently. To make a valid opinion on someone it is wise to realize the differences and similarities between them. I appreciated his information and when he said he had more information on an audio series called the Magic of Colors, I decided to get it. While ordering the Magic of Colors I also noticed another audio series called the Magic of Influence. While Magic of Colors explained people the Magic of Influence explained a wider format of the world we live in. To date these have been the most influential, however, check for updates to learn about more resources and gathering opportunities.
